On January 18, the celebration of the Epiphany (Orthodox style) will take place at Qasr el-Yahud, the site of the traditional baptism of Jesus Christ. On this day, the Orthodox world remembers the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist in the Jordan River and happily dips into the muddy waters of the river.
